Frequently asked questions

What does Physical Male do?

Physical Male LLC is a company that has pioneered the concept of bringing our medical team to you. Thru the advancement of telemedicine, we provide live video appointments with our physicians. These physicians offer the most current information on HRT for men.

What is TRT?

TRT is geared toward men over the age of 30 who are experiencing energy, libido, weight gain, and much more that goes along witht he aging process. Our program allows the body to perform at optimal health, making an individual look and feel younger.

Why would I need TRT?

As men age, their bodies start to slow the production of important hormones like testosterone. As these levels recede, men experience the common signs of aging: weight gain, loss of muscle, loss of concentration, fatigue, decreased sex drive, to name a few. Testosterone replacement therapy can return testosterone levels to where they need to be.

What are the benefits of TRT?

Originally TRT was focused on the obvious effects of low T, muscle loss, low libido, etc. Today thru much further research in low T we have discovered it goes way beyond this, it has a profound effect on keeping the heart and liver healthy, mental functions and much more.

How do I start treatment?

You would start by hitting the "Free Consultation" button; we will schedule to have one of our contracted medical technician’s come to your home or office to collect your medical information and blood work, then after your health assessment and blood work results are in we will schedule a video appointment with one of our physicians to review your results.

Could I come to the clinic instead of a Video Consultation?

Yes, we have physicians located in certain states and that number is growing every day, if you choose to, you could visit their office instead.

What types of medications do you prescribe?

Physical Male prescribes various types and brands of medications for low T. You and our physician will determine what type of meds would work best for you.

Will I automatically qualify for treatment?

No. There must be a medical necessity for treatment. We’re not going to give you treatments to enhance your sports performance or other irresponsible uses of low T meds. We are a group of physicians trying to make your life better by making you healthy rather than a sports enhancement clinic.

Are there any potential side effects with TRT?

Any medication is going to carry a risk for side effects, but Physical Male’s affiliated physicians have worked to reduce this risk to almost nothing. We follow strict protocols and do regular follow up and testing.

Dosage sizes are also important in testosterone replacement. Putting too much testosterone into the body could potentially cause some side effects. Our affiliated physicians conduct thorough health exams to pinpoint the right dosages, so clients will not have to worry about this, as well as track and monitor their progress during the course of treatment.

Will I see results right away?

The timeline for witnessing results varies between individuals. However, most clients can expect to see changes within the first two weeks. An increase in mental sharpness and more energy are generally the first signs that show the treatment is working. Within the course of the following weeks, clients will start to see their bodies responding to exercise along with an increased libido. Regardless of when the results come, clients will certainly notice a marked difference between their lives before and after TRT.

What are some signs that I might need TRT?

Testosterone deficiency can present itself in several ways. Some of the more common signs are:

■Decreased interest in sex and trouble performing sexually

■Feelings of anxiousness and irritability

■Mood swings

■Memory loss or trouble focusing

■Gaining weight easily

■Lack of energy

■Decline in muscle mass

■Muscle weakness

When might I need to begin TRT?

The decline in hormone levels begins in your mid to late twenties; by 35, any symptoms you’re having should begin to be apparent by then. We do not prescribe TRT to anyone beneath the age of 30 for this exact reason.

Will TRT effect my body’s natural testosterone production?

Our affiliated physicians take measures to ensure this does not happen. When glands that produce testosterone detect a sufficient level, they tend not to work as hard. Still, testosterone replacement therapy is used on men with testosterone deficiency, meaning their bodies have already slowed the natural production of testosterone. Testosterone replacement therapy is a solution, not a potential problem.

Is there any way I can treat the symptoms of testosterone deficiency without TRT?

Many traditional doctors that refuse to recognize the obvious benefits of TRT will prescribe medication such as anti-depressants to cure one or two symptoms at a time. While this might work to cure a single symptom, it does not do anything to cure the problem as a whole. The only true cure for testosterone deficiency is through TRT.

How do I know if I’m a suitable candidate for TRT?

Following a consultation that involves health screening, full blood panel and review of medical history, our affiliated physicians will be able to determine whether hormone replacement therapy is right for you.

Can I receive TRT to help in bodybuilding or enhance performance in sports?

No. Our affiliated physicians will only consider prescribing HRT to men over the age of 30 that are experiencing a deficiency. This need for TRT is confirmed through blood work, physical examination, and review of medical history. They will refuse to prescribe treatment to clients under the age of 30 or for performance enhancement and body building.

Will TRT help with my sexual dysfunction?

It might. Low libido can be caused by many things, of which a hormone deficiency might be a cause. Starting TRT will most likely mean an increase in your libido and it may solve your low libido problems. However, your experience may be different.

Is TRT something that my health insurance will cover?

Depending on your health insurance carrier it is possible, however we do not file claims on your behalf, we will provide you with the necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance carrier. We would be designated as an out of network provider.

How much will it cost?

Depending on the type or brand it can vary from $125 to $350 a month. You can have the prescription filled at your local pharmacy or we can provide you with one of our national pharmacies that can provide dramatic savings.
